IMPORTANT! Starting from 1 July, the class II national roads have been included in the TOLL system for freight and passenger vehicles, and the amount of these tolls for motorways and class I national roads will be increased in two stages. The increase in the amount of tolls for freight and passenger vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes will be implemented from 1 July 2022 and 1 January 2023 respectively.
Vehicles between 3.5 and 12 tones, depending on their eco-category, will pay between 6 and 9 stotinki per kilometer on the motorway. The toll for driving on first-class roads will be between 5 and 8 stotinki per kilometer, and for second-class roads - between 2 and 3 stotinki. From 1 January 2023, the rates for these vehicles will be respectively between 10 and 13 stotinki for a motorway, between 6 and 9 stotinki for a first-class road, and for second-class roads – between 4 and 7 stotinki per kilometer.
From 1 July, vehicles over 12 tones with 2 or 3 axles, depending on their eco-category, will pay between 16 and 20 stotinki for a motorway. The toll for crossing a first-class road will be between 13 and 17 stotinki per kilometer, and for second-class roads - between 9 and 11 stotinki. From 1 January 2023, the toll for these heavy vehicles will be from 26 to 30 stotinki per kilometer on the motorway, between 22 and 25 stotinki for first-class roads and between 19 and 23 stotinki for second-class roads.
For vehicles over 12 tones with 4 or more axles the price per kilometer from 1 July this year will be within the limits of 15 stotinki for a second-class road for a vehicle of category EURO VI, EEV 32 stotinki for the categories EURO 0, I, II when travelling on a motorway. From 1 January next year, the price will be 29 stotinki for a second-class road for the highest Euro class and 43 stotinki per kilometer on the motorway for a heavy vehicle of the categories EURO 0, I, II.
The cost for electronic vignettes/tolls in Bulgaria, for means of transport up to 3.5 tonnes, will be reduced by 10% from 1 January 2023; until 31 December 2022, their amount remains unchanged.
